ERPNext Implementation for Indian Businesses

Landessware implements, customises, and supports ERPNext on the Frappe framework for SMEs and enterprises across India. Open-source-first, deeply customisable, and supported long-term by a Chennai-based team.

ERPNext is an open-source ERP that gets better every year — and the Frappe framework underneath it is genuinely excellent for teams that want deep customisation without the lock-in of proprietary ERPs.

Landessware’s ERPNext practice focuses on deployments where open-source-first and customisation-heavy are advantages: manufacturing firms with specific process needs, service businesses with bespoke workflows, educational institutions, and SMEs that have outgrown spreadsheets and want a modern ERP they can fully own.

What we do with ERPNext

Frappe-native customisation, not one-off hacks.

End-to-end implementation

Requirements, module selection, configuration, data migration, user training, go-live, and hand-over.

Custom Frappe/Python modules

Proper Frappe-framework modules, following the same patterns ERPNext itself uses — upgrade-safe and testable.

Migration from legacy systems

Tally, SAP, older ERPNext versions, spreadsheet-based setups — we migrate data cleanly with parallel-run periods.

Integrations

GSTN, payment gateways, WhatsApp, email marketing, HR/payroll, courier APIs, POS, banking.

Self-hosted or managed

Deploy on your own servers, AWS/GCP, or our managed infrastructure. Full ownership, no SaaS lock-in.

Long-term AMC

Annual support contract covering functional help, bug fixes, minor customisations, and version upgrades.

ERPNext vs Odoo — which is right for you?

Both are excellent open-source ERPs. The choice usually comes down to:

  • Pick ERPNext if: you value open-source purity, want the Frappe framework for heavy customisation, prefer a more focused module set, and want a pricing model that doesn’t push you to enterprise edition
  • Pick Odoo if: you want a wider module catalogue (especially on marketing, e-commerce, and field service), prefer a more polished UX in some corners, or need a specific Odoo-only app

We implement both and will honestly recommend the one that fits. Not every ERPNext pitch converts to an ERPNext engagement — sometimes Odoo is the right answer, and we say so.

Modules we regularly configure and extend

  • Accounting — GST, TDS, Reverse Charge, e-invoicing, multi-currency, multi-company consolidation
  • Selling & CRM — quotations, sales orders, leads, opportunities, customer groups
  • Buying & Inventory — purchase orders, RFQs, stock, warehouses, reorder levels, serial/batch tracking
  • Manufacturing — BOMs, work orders, production planning, subcontracting, quality inspection
  • HR & Payroll — employee records, attendance, leave, payroll with Indian statutory compliance
  • Projects — project billing, timesheets, budgeting, tasks
  • Education — programs, courses, fees, assessments (great for coaching centres and institutions)
  • Healthcare — patient records, appointments, clinical processes

Why Indian businesses pick us for ERPNext

  • Open-source-first team. We actually contribute back to ERPNext / Frappe repos; we’re not just consumers.
  • Product experience. Our in-house accounting product (Lander Books) is built on similar principles — that engineering discipline shows up in our ERPNext customisations.
  • Chennai-based support. In your timezone, willing to visit factory or retail sites, familiar with Indian compliance realities.
  • Long-term relationships. Most ERPNext clients stay with us for AMC after go-live — we’re not a project-and-disappear consultancy.

ERPNext implementation — common questions

Core ERPNext is open-source and free to self-host. Implementation, customisation, and support from a partner (like us) are paid. Frappe Cloud (hosted ERPNext) has subscription pricing if you prefer managed SaaS.

A 6–8 module deployment for an SME typically runs 8–14 weeks from kickoff to go-live. Complex manufacturing or multi-entity deployments take longer.

Yes — by following Frappe’s module and hooks conventions rather than forking the core. Our customisations survive ERPNext version upgrades because they’re written as proper Frappe apps.

Yes, fully — CGST/SGST/UGST/IGST, Reverse Charge, TDS, e-invoicing integration via GSTN API, and the automated Indian tax compliance workflow. Where gaps exist, we add custom modules.

Absolutely. We help you set up self-hosted ERPNext on your infrastructure (AWS, GCP, on-premise) including Docker deployment, backup configuration, and monitoring. Or we manage it for you.

AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract) covers functional support, bug fixes, minor customisations, and version upgrade planning. Most of our ERPNext clients engage us long-term.
